THIS JUST HAPPENED: Top prosecutor Bobby Taghavi, reviewing the case, said: āSomeone like Travis Turner is in a situation where every option seems dangerous.ā Observers say Turner may have hidden supplies or been moving cautiously along the mountains, a desperate escape into isolation with increasing risk of survival and exposure
A top prosecutor has issued a grim theory on the fate of the high school football coach who vanished after being accused of crimes against children.
Travis Turner, 46, disappeared from his home in rural Appalachia,Ā Virginia, on November 20 when agents were on their way to arrest him.
He is accused of soliciting a minor and possessing child pornography but has been missing for two weeks after heading into the mountains with a gun.
He has not been convicted of any crime, but has been scrubbed off the Union High Schoolās website.
TheĀ CaliforniaĀ prosecutorĀ Bobby Taghavi, who is not involved in the case, believes Turner will takeĀ ādrastic measuresā to avoid being found.
He claimed the football coachĀ will most likely die by suicide, if the extreme conditions of the wilderness and its wildlife does not kill him first.
Taghavi,Ā who has prosecuted similar sexĀ crimeĀ cases in his 19-year career,Ā told the Daily Mail: āSomeone like Travis Turner [if he is guilty] is sitting in a position where his life as he knows it is, for all intents and purposes, over.
āHeāll no longer be a coach, heāll no longer be a teacher, heās probably going to have a lot of issues within his family and within the community, especially when youāre living in a small community with someone whoās high profile like him.ā

According to attorney Taghavi (pictured), the solicitation of a minor charge carries a āmore serious sentenceā
He said that if Turner is guilty, āheās probably not going to be able to live there anymore.
āHe probably canāt flee Virginia, because heāll be on probation or on parole, so heās cornered in a way where it makes sense that heās taking some drastic measures, unfortunately.ā
Turner, who was also a physical education teacher,Ā is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.
Active warrants were issued for his arrest after his quick getaway, with the US Marshals Service involved in the manhunt.

Taghavi, a managing partner at Sweet James Accident Attorneys, broke down his thoughts on the charges.
He said the solicitation of a minor charge carries a āmore serious sentenceā of between five and 30 years in prison.
He continued that Turner would also have to register as a sex offender if he was convicted, meaning he could never coach or be around children again.
If Turner is found or turns himself in, Taghavi said he wonāt face more trouble for running, but the act ādoesnāt look good.ā
Turnerās wife, Leslie, 46, recently wiped her social media following the drama.
Taghavi said āa lot of times in these types of casesā the family would not be held responsibleĀ āas long as they didnāt know and as long as they werenāt complicit.ā
He added āthereās no evidence that the wife was [involved or knowledgeable] in this case.ā

Turnerās wife Leslie (left), 46, recently wiping all her social media clean following the accusations and her husbandās disappearance
Leslie, 46, aĀ paralegal, exclusively told the Daily MailĀ the charges against her husband are untrue.
She said she had no knowledge of her husbandās alleged inappropriate contact with minors.
āI donāt know anything. I donāt know anything. Iām sorry,ā she said.
When asked about the child porn charges for which police are seeking Turner, Leslie rose to her husbandās defense.
She said: āNone of that is true. Heās a good dad and a good husband and we want him home. Thatās it.ā
On Monday it was reportedĀ Leslie, who has been married to Turner for 25 years, cleared her FacebookĀ after initially using it to share updates on her missing husband.
āTheyāre also victims,ā Taghavi said about the families of the accused. āItās very embarrassing to them, thereās a social stigma of, āHow could you not know? Were you in on it?ā
He said throughout his career, heās seen āfamily members, spouses, significant others, parents, siblings, go as far as changing their names, deleting social media, kind of going into a hole and hiding because of the shame and the amount of online hate.ā
The manhunt for Turner continues and has intensified as US Marshals are now offering up to $5,000 for any information leading to his capture.
Marshals clarified that while they are helping with the search, they are not involved in the investigation. The Virginia State Police and FBI are also involved in the search.
